Alexandra Block has been a practicing art therapist with children and adolescents for over 10 years. She is a graduate of Hahneman University in Philadelphia (currently Drexel University). Her clinical experience includes working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, anxiety, depression Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, and those who have been abused or neglected. In addition she has treated issues surrounding divorce and domestic abuse. In her practice artistic expression is used as a primary method to communicate, understand, problem solve, and heal in a way that is safe and non-threatening. Individual sessions provide an opportunity for the child to address emotional well-being, communication, social interaction in a way that is best suited to their own developmental level. Alexandra creates a comprehensive treatment plan with the parent and child to address issues in the home and school. She actively works with the parent in the child's treatment to ensure that their child and family receive the highest benefits from therapy.
