Dr. John Bishop is a clinical psychologist providing individual psychotherapy and assessment to children, adolescents, and adults. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2003 and is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He specializes in play therapy for children ages 5 to 12, for problems of mood and anxiety, abuse and trauma issues, and behavior problems, including aggression, noncompliance, and sexual acting out, and helping families utilize family behavior management. In working with adolescents and adults his primary orientation is psychodynamic, helping clients to explore current feelings and experiences in order to better understand themselves and feel more in charge of their lives. He also uses cognitive-behavioral methods to help clients gain skills in managing difficult thoughts and feelings.
