Kristin has been a practicing therapist for over nine years. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine in psychology. She then went on the Antioch New England Graduate School and completed her Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling Psychology. Her first years in practice were within the community mental health venue, working with children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, trauma and attachment disorders. She then moved on to work in in-patient settings, first with adults with chronic mental illness and then with adolescents with a history of trauma and self-injury. She has worked with people in all stages of life in groups, as individuals and families.
Kristin offers sessions that integrate action oriented therapy techniques with verbal processing. Movement, dance, drama and play allow for indirect exploration of issues and allow for strengths to be highlighted. Kristin also integrates systems theories, humanistic perspectives and solution-focused techniques to aid in meeting the goals of therapy.
Kristin works with children, teens and families in private practice using dance/movement, play and verbal therapy. She has her advanced credentials with the American Dance/Movement Therapy Association. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She also works as a clinician for adolescent girls in a social services agency in Southern New Jersey. In addition, Kristin supervises students and professionals seeking higher credentials.
